The team and I built quite a few large props and puppets for director Simon Willows’ two adverts for the Dutch sweets Lakerol. The ads were shot against black, with the puppeteers all in black. The tagline for the sweets was: ‘Too odd to describe’, and the adverts had strange things happening to a man, while he eats the sweets. The concepts changed quite a bit as we developed the idea; a couple of unused ideas are in some of the early storyboards below.
