For this McDonalds advert directed by Simon Willows, we created a galloping barbeque in collaboration with Hothouse Models and Effects, that was to be set free, and run off into the countryside to the theme tune of Black Beauty. The puppet design went through various prototype stages, to achieve the right effect, ending up with the final fabricated barbeque supported from the middle of a crossbar, which was held up by two people who ran with it, while Spencer and I ran with them, puppeteering the puppet’s legs with long rods.
